Ronald Calvo

Ronald Calvo, grew up in the province of Cartago, Costa Rica. Married and father of a son he is double majored in Geography and Ecotourism at University of Costa Rica, where he earned his degrees. He has worked as a consultant for the non-profit Fundación Neotropica on a Management Plan for Palo Verde and Barra Honda National Parks. He has also analyzed and advised on water resources for several communities in the Turrubares, Central Pacific region of Costa Rica.

Ronald, who is fluent in English, is a teacher at heart, and has worked at Universidad Latina de Costa Rica teaching Physical Geography and Planning for Development and has given lectures on Geomorphology for the certification of tour guides at Institute of Biodiversity of Costa Rica (InBio) and the National Learning Institute (INA) as well as for students from University of Colorado through Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, TCU, Texas A&M, Le Moyne College, and Pasadena Community College . He has also worked as a consultant on the certification of Adventure tour guides by the Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT).

His hobbies include sports, racing in the National Endurance mountain biking Championship and international races such as the Nevada State Championship and the Memorial 112 miles around Oahu-Hawaii, as well as adventure racing, exploring the landscapes of his home province Cartago and traveling around the world.
