David Baker
David Baker lives with his wife Barb in the Okanagan Valley in the summer and Mexico in the winter. Originally from the oil town of Calgary, Alberta, Canada he owned and operated an engineering firm that designed wind turbine facilities throughout North America. In the 80’s and 90’s, people thought he personified the expression “Tilting at Windmills”; but an industry was born allowing him to grow his company to 40 staff and three offices across Canada. He sold his company in 2008 and left the corporate world the following year. He cycled throughout his youth (even through the snowy Calgary winters) and kept his 1978 Sekine 10 speed for 30 years. After a couple of tours with Duvine as a client, it was clear that guiding would be a perfect fit for his next challenge. He hopes that Duvine doesn’t figure out that the combination of organizing, riding, and sharing Canada is not a job it’s a passion!
