Bike Accessories

Handlebar bags
Handlebar bags are a handy accessory that we supply on biking trips.  Clipping on to your handlebars, these bags provide a popular way to carry cameras, wallets, sunscreen, light jackets and other small items you might need while biking.  The waterproof map case on top of the bag holds the day’s route instructions for convenient access while riding.  The handlebar bag is detachable, so you can take it with you while exploring towns, or leave it behind entirely if you do not want it. Of course, the support van will be available as well to carry your gear, purchases and refreshments.

toe clips

Toe Cages
As the name implies, standard “toe cages” (also referred to as “toe straps”) feature a cage into which you slide the front of your foot. They also feature adjustable straps that you tighten around your foot so it remains in the cage and flat against the pedal while you’re riding. They provide a slightly improved performance over flat pedals by increasing the power in your pedal stroke (by virtue of your shoe being held firmly against the pedal).

Clipless Pedals
If you currently ride with clipless pedals and would like to bring those along with you, make sure you bring both the shoes and the pedals. Your guide will be happy to mount your pedals for you prior to your first ride.

Flat Pedals
The major advantage of flat pedals is that they are compatible with just about any pair of shoes, and don’t confine the feet in any way.
