The bountiful bays and inlets marking the shore are home to an endless amount of lobster boats, and we'll hop on our bikes to get a glimpse of Vacationland. On our bike tour in Maine, we'll enjoy every aspect of life that the Bar Harbor region has to offer, including the world's best crustaceans.
The quaint town of Bar Harbor will be our hub for the trip, as its many shops and art galleries provide hours of enjoyment no matter what you like to do. Close to the shoreline, we'll easily be able to explore the coast and nearby Acadia National Park. The scenery is best enjoyed on a relaxing bike ride, all under the direction of our world-class guides.
On the first day of the tour, we'll enjoy a beautiful 27-mile ride through Acadia National Park. With stunning vistas lining the trail, there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy rest stops that are truly stunning. We'll see Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, and Otter Cliffs, all of which offer fun and memorable experiences. At night, we'll enjoy some real Maine Lobster in Bar Harbor, a tasting that is truly a must during a trip to Maine.
The Carriage Road Trail system will be our host on day 2. The 45 miles of rustic carriage roads weave through the mountains and valleys of Acadia National Park, leading us around Heart Desert Island. With no cars on the trail, we'll have the path to ourselves, free to bike at any pace and enjoy the scenery. For an extra challenge, our guests have the option to bike the 3.5-mile climb up Cadillac Mountain. If you choose to scale the mountain to the 1,532-foot summit, you'll be rewarded with marvelous panoramic views of the area.
Over at Northeast harbor, we'll be treated to more shops, galleries, and boutiques. You can never have too many chances to explore quaint local shops and meet the owners. The nearby Asticou Azalea Garden also offers a beautiful walk through nature, with numerous paths through the garden. If you'd like to hop off the bike and meander through the flowers, this is a perfect opportunity. As we ride on, we'll reach Bass Harbor Light, one of the iconic lighthouses of the area.
