Brittany Bike Tour

Words cannot describe the natural beauty you find all over the coast of Brittany, or Bretagne as the French call it. If off the beaten track is your style of travel than you are going to love this area that still remains a bit old school in its ways of living, learning, and preserving nature. This isn’t to say that you won’t find what you’re looking for as far as a sensory experience is concerned.  You’ll be greeted each day by the ocean as it sprays its salty ocean mist upon the land, a therapeutic morning ritual. Your palette will be treated with the best seafood this country has to offer including langoustines, crabs, fish of all sorts, oysters a plenty and clams, locally called palourdes. The cuisine here can be described as simple and fresh.  They use only locally grown ingredients to make their famous crepes (thin pancakes made from buckwheat filled with whatever you want – sweet & savory!). Don’t forget their numerous ways of preparing sweets using a base of lots of sugar, caramel and butter. These are all well paired with the region’s best hard cider or whiskey. The manor houses that host us are representative of the style of life that noble Parisians enjoyed on their weekends and summer vacations; a little sea breeze is good for everyone. The biking is made up of mostly flat terrain with as much coastal riding as we can possible squeeze in a week
