Okanagan Valley Bicycle Tour Itinerary

Day One: Orchard to the Wineries
Your tour begins from the Manteo Resort at 8:30 am, we will fit you to your bike and cycle from the hotel to Father Pandosy Mission Site. This is the oldest settlement in the area dating back to 1859. After exploring this historic site we will cycle to Camelot Winery. Your route winds above Kelowna with gorgeous valleys and lake views. We continue on to Okanagan Lavender, which boasts over 60 varieties of lavender. There you can savor a delicate lavender ice-tea or lemonade. Your route will take you to Summerhill Pyramid Winery for lunch at the sunset bistro with its amazing lake view. We will also go on a tour of their winery. You then have the option to cycle or take transport to Cedar Creek Winery for a tasting. Enjoy an exclusive visit with Carmelis Goat Cheese Artisan Inc. a family owned and operated boutique making over 20 types of goat cheese with everything from a chevre-type cheese, a Camembert-style goat cheese, to a blue cheese the “Goatgonzola”. New, and just as tasty, is their homemade gelato. You will then return to the Manteo Resort to relax before drinks and dinner, at the Raudz Regional Grill.

Day Two: Trestles and Tunnels Tour
After a good night’s rest and a fantastic breakfast at the Wild Apple Grill you will be transported to Myra Canyon to begin today’s ride. Myra Canyon  in one of the most popular sections of the former Kettle Valley Railway line. This is a national historic site that was built between 1912 to 1914. The section of railway between Myra station and June Springs station required 18 wooden trestles and two tunnels in order to traverse the deep canyon. We will venture across Bellevue Creek Trestle that is 238 meters long and 65 meters high. This afternoon we will lunch at McCulloch Station Pub which is named after Andrew McCulloch, Chief Engineer of Construction. On our way back to the resort we will stop at the Sperling winery for a wine tasting. You will have an opportunity to relax on the waterfront at the Manteo Resort before dinner at Bouchon’s Bistro, an amazing French bistro.

Day Three: Rail Trail to Wine Capital of Canada
Breakfast today will be just a walk away along the boardwalk to the Eldorado Dining Room, before check-out and transportation to the start of our cycle in Summerland. We arrive to the trailhead at the Trout Creek Trestle; 73 meter’s high above the canyon, where you can explore Summerland Sweets amazing jams and syrups. Today you will cycle the K.V.R. rail trail route built in 1914. This is part of the Trans Canada Trail, the longest recreational trail in the world. You will have a chance to see wild horses that have roamed this area since the 1800’s and experience fantastic lake and valley views as we descend down to the Penticton Waterfront (Penticton meaning a place to stay forever in the native language). We will regroup on the shores of Skaha Lake for refreshments before continuing our cycle to Ok Falls. This is one of the most beautiful rides in the Okanagan Valley. We will stop at the Blue Mountain Vineyard along the way for a wine tasting. From Blue Mountain Vineyard you will be transported to the Tin Horn for lunch. After lunch, you will then be taken to Silver Sage Winery to taste a wonderful selection of fruit wines, before heading to the awe inspiring Walnut Beach Resort in Osoyoos, your next luxury accommodation. For dinner you will be treated at Passa Tempo, Spirit Ridge.

Day Four: See Ya Later Ranch Winery To Burrowing Owl Estate Winery
The day will start with a breakfast of fresh baked items and good coffee at Dolci Deli & Catering in Osoyoos (grab something to go; lunch is a little later today). Today you explore the northern most tip of the Sonoran Desert, traveling the routes of our pioneers along the Hudson’s Bay Fur Brigade Trail and the Kettle Valley Railway. You will cycle past small country farms and along the Okanagan River Channel before enjoying the bounty of the area. We transport you to See Ya Later Ranch for a wine tasting before beginning our cycle to Jackson Triggs and Church and State Winery for a wine tasting. We will continue on to the Okanagan River to Burrowing Owl Estate Winery for a Wine Pairing Lunch at the Sonoran Room at Burrowing Owl and an after lunch tour. Enjoy some time back at the Walnut Beach Resort before our farewell dinner at Campo Marina.
