| Luxurious Villas and Paradors on your bike trip to Spain Hotel Villa Abalos Hotel Villa Abalos is located in the Riojan village of Abalos, surrounded by fields crossed with endless rows of vines and housed in a beautifully restored XVII century ancestral home. The original walls enhance the cosy lounge and a stunning ladder gives access to the 12 elegantly decorated guestrooms. Stone, wood and ironwork add a warm atmosphere, while the modern amenities provide a comfortable, luminous and spacious feel. Merche and Jose Luis, the friendly and hospitable owners, are always there to make you feel at home and to take care of anything you might need. The restaurant offers seasonal dishes of traditional cuisine from the Rioja region, with some elements to add a modern touch. Outstanding products, locally produced, combined with Merche's innovative approach, makes dinning at Villa Abalos a real delight.
Parador Lerma Parador Lerma is one of the most recently added to the Parador chain. This Parador is a Ducal Palace that was constructed on the site of a 15th c. castle between 1601 and 1617. The first Duke of Lerma ordered the castle built as a place of lodging, rest and general enjoyment for King Felipe III. The building has a central courtyard surrounded by two columned arcades. The first has 20 Tuscan columns with semi-circular arches while the second has 20 Ionic columns. The Parador's cuisine is centred on typical regional products such as lamb, quail and partridge. Hotel Torremilanos at the Bodegas Peñalba Lopez Medieval castles, ancient walled cities, and wildflower fields fill the landscape. The bodegas are small, with intimate tasting rooms and vintner-led tours. Some of the best wines coming out of Europe these days are from Ribera del Duero, the swath of land that cuts east-west along the Duero river, north of Madrid. Though these rich, intense, and deeply complex Ribera reds have a growing number of devotees around the world, the region itself is still largely undiscovered. Spend one night in the heart of the Ribera in this famous Torremilanos. The lobby is grand, and the service outstanding, with 20 grand rooms. The pretty terrace off the breakfast room is just the place to sip a glass of wine in the late afternoon. Hospederia de Santo Domingo This fine early 18th century house in the Jewish quarter of Pedraza has been restored respecting all the smallest details of the former house. The house has been decorated with great care by Fracisco Muñoz, from the magazine "Casa & Jardín" (Home & Garden), whose mark has been firmly imprinted on practically all the stylish hotels in Pedraza. The earthenware floors and thick wooden beams combined with walls and upholstery in warm tones invite the wayfarer to rest. There is a cosy bar at the hotel and restaurants in the town. Its peaceful garden surrounded by an age-old wall typical of this medieval town, has wonderful views of the Guadarrama mountain range, the aqueduct and the delightful storks nest. If you want to enjoy the magic of this small town you just have to step out onto one of the balconies at the front of the hotel that overlook the pebbled streets and the ruins of the Romanesque Santo Domingo church.
