Born on the East Coast in New York City, I bounced around a bit in my early years, going from New York to New Jersey to Australia before finally ending up in California. The Golden Coast is where I stayed, enjoying the sun until heading back east for college.

I am a rising senior at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, majoring in History with a minor in Economics. As a Senior Staff Writer for the Tufts Daily, the school’s daily newspaper, I have been able to channel both my passion for writing and sports simultaneously. I’ve been an athlete my entire life, playing baseball, soccer and basketball before finally sticking with the most classic sport of all, running. At Tufts, I run Cross Country and Track, competing at the NCAA Championships this past winter in the 800 meters.

Though the weather in New England is different than anything I had experienced, the change in scenery has been nice. Enduring cold winters and humid summers has been tough at times, but it made me realize that the weather actually changes in most parts of the world.

Growing up I had the privilege of seeing the world many times. I traveled to Europe, visiting England, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Austria, and the Czech Republic, the latter two on a bike tour, as well as traveling domestically. These opportunities have been incredibly rewarding and I am hopeful to continue to see the world in the future.

While athletics take up a lot of my time currently, making time to explore the world is still important to me. Last summer I traveled to Egypt and Kenya, visiting Africa for the first time. This trip, my first time out of the country unaccompanied by my parents, was an eye-opening experience for me. Interacting with the locals and immersing myself in culture of the area to the extent that I did helped me recognize an incredible part of travel that I had previously been missing.
