Tour by Day

Day One: Welcome to Veneto!
Your guides will meet you in Verona, and then we’re off to Il Borghetto where our bike tour begins. At the hotel, enjoy a glass of regional prosecco while we complete our bike fitting and safety talk. Then we’ll head off on our first ride through the Custoza wine region. Along the way, visit our friend Gianni to sample his selection of wines at his family’s farmhouse. After the tasting we'll take an easy spin back to Il Borghetto. Tonight, enjoy the area’s best tortelli (hand-stuffed pasta served in broth or melted butter) in the frescoed halls of our favorite local restaurant.

Wake to the soothing sounds of the Mincio River outside your window. Today, we’re off to Mantua, home to one of Italy’s greatest concentrations of Renaissance art. Follow the winding course of the Mincio River downstream through the famously fertile land and cross one of the four artificial lakes in Mantua. Here we’ll view the famous frescoes in the Palazzo Ducale or the operatic styling of the Teatro Bibiena. Enjoy lunch at one of the local trattorias. After, opt to complete the ride back to the hotel or take a lift in the van. Tonight you are free to explore the enchanting Borghetto on your own.

Day Three: Lake Garda
Today we’ll ride up river through the heart of the Bardolino wine region along an idyllic ridge lined with olives and vineyards that overlooks the stunning Lake Garda. Visit our friend Marina at the beautiful LaCa winery for a tasting of their Bardolino wines. Then, ride down to the lakeside town of Bardolino to explore the cobbled streets and stop into a local restaurant for lunch. No visit to Garda is complete without a boat ride, so we’ll climb aboard a ferry. Take in the stunning alpine views as we cross the lake to our stunning lakeside hotel where we’ll enjoy dinner tonight.

We’ll descend into the Adige River Valley where our friend Stefano will welcome us to his chic agriturismo in the heart of the vineyards for a tasting lunch with some of the best local wines. Enjoy lunch at a medieval osteria where our host will treat us with local stories. Enjoy dinner in Verona at our favorite restaurant built on the ruins of the Roman forum. If the opera is in town, you'll have the option to purchase tickets and enjoy a performance at Verona's Roman amphitheater or spend some time exploring the city before heading back to the hotel with your guides.
