Tour by Day

Day One: Welcome to Switzerland
Your guides will greet you at the Lausanne train station, and the adventure begins. We’ll transfer to Epesses, in the heart of the terraced Swiss vineyards, where the fun begins with a light lunch and introductory wine tasting with winemaker Marina Bovard. After our bike fitting, we’ll cycle through the scenic vineyards and learn about the colorful history of the region. Pass through historic Vevey, home of food giant Nestlé. Ride on to Montreux for an historical visit of Château Chillon, which sits on an island in the lake. We'll return to our hotel in Montreux for a gourmet meal overlooking Lac Leman.

Day Two: Through the Swiss Alps to Villars sur Ollon
Start the morning cycling along the gentle contours of the Upper Rhône to Yvorne before passing through Aigle en route to Bex. We'll tour the town before riding the cog railway up to Gryon. From Gryon we can continue uphill by gondola or pedal to the top. Enjoy lunch at one of the local eateries in Barboleusaz. Enjoy a spectacular downhill ride through the lush alpine forest, passing through Barboleusaz and Arveyes and arriving in Villars, a small Alpine village and the location of our deluxe accommodations for the next two nights.

Day Three: Hiking to the Alpine Lakes
We’ll take to the hills on foot today, hiking to Col de la Croix to enjoy the peace and quiet of its ancient, tranquil paths. A gentle hike past summer hamlets will lead us to the emerald Lac des Chavonnes for a magical lunch. Indulge in local specialties like rösti. After lunch, hike back to Villars, or jump on the train and ride back. If the skies are clear, go wild and paraglide down! Enjoy dinner on your own in town tonight—your guides have plenty of great suggestions.

Day Four: To Gstaad and German Side
Start the day with a quick ride from Villars to les Diablerets. Admire the views of the glacier below from 3,000 meters up in the air. Changing states from the French speaking part of Switzerland to the German one, we’ll arrive at our destination in Gstaad to begin our ride. We’ll climb up to les Diablerets and reward ourselves with lunch in town before climbing to Le Col du Pillon at the base of the Glacier des Diablerets. From here, the rest of the ride is an exhilarating downhill to reach Gstaad.

Day Five: Rossiniere
Today we’ll cycle along the banks of the River Sarine, passing the town of Rougemont and then on to Rossiniere, home of one of the best cheeses in the country, l’Etivaz. We’ll drive from here to the steep slopes above the valley floor to meet our friend Pipo, a local cheese maker. Pipo will teach us the art of traditional cheese making, and we’ll share a generous cheese tasting as well as a sampling of some of the other local specialties. Then we’ll jump back on our bikes and head off for a visit to Château d’Oex before returning to Gstaad. Tonight’s pièce de résistance: a decadent cheese fondue.

Day Six: Goodbye to Switzerland
After breakfast and a final Alpine bike ride or hike around the village, your guides will see you off at the train station in Gstaad.
