Tour by Day
Day One: Welcome to Switzerland
Your guides will greet you at the train station in Rorschach on the banks of Lake Constance, and our Swiss adventure begins. Setting straight out on our e-bikes, we’ll visit a local winemaker and sample his Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. Next door we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch heading for the hills, pausing to enjoy the quiet hilltop town of Heiden. We’ll ride onto our final destination, the Gasthaus Guph, and enjoy views of the Bodensee and the snowcapped Alps. This evening we’ll have an apéritif in Gasthaus’ striking wine cellar before a delicious feast at the hotel’s excellent restaurant.

Day Two: Rolling Hills of Appenzell
Start the day on your e-bike with a tour of the Appenzell countryside. The Appenzell region is the most independent in Switzerland. We’ll stop along the way for a picnic lunch in the town of Schlatt with a panoramic view of the mountains that border one side of the Appenzell. Continue cycling into the town of Appenzell, where we’ll explore the village on a guided tour, learning about the Landsgemeindeplatz and the importance of the town’s beautifully painted buildings. Take some time to relax back at the hotel before we meet up for a traditional dinner at Romantik Hotel Säntis.

Day Three: Discover Appenzell
Today we’ll hop on our e-bikes for a ride through the rolling Appenzell country. Gaze out on the soaring Alps before arriving in Stein, where we’ll visit the famous cheese factory and learn everything about cheese production in the region. Of course, we’ll enjoy some delicious samples ourselves before lunch at the Appenzeller Cheese Restaurant. After lunch, enjoy a beautiful e-bike ride back to Appenzell. Once back at the hotel, you have the rest of the afternoon to enjoy however you like. This evening, we’ll visit the Appenzeller Herb-Schnapps Distillery for an apéritif before dinner on your own in town.

Day Four: Into the Hills and to Lake Zurich
Taking full advantage of our e-bikes, we’ll climb high into the hills to visit the charming villages of the alpine foothills. Enjoy a gourmet picnic in Hemberg before a descent through quiet forests and fields on our way to Wattwil. As we approach the town of Uznach, the spectacular Lake Zurich will appear right before us. Watch the waterfowl paddling about the lake and fishermen boating out from their cottages. Visit the Helighüsli, a chapel in the middle of the lake, in the historic village of Rapperwil. Or enjoy the rose gardens in town. A short transfer will deliver us to the Panorama Resort & Spa.

Day Five: The Heart of Switzerland
A transfer this morning will take us to Einsiedeln, where we’ll explore this pilgrims’ village and its famous Baroque monastery, which houses an uncommon Black Madonna. We’ll begin our ride via the ski resort of Ybrig and Oberiberg, climbing up to the stunning Ibergeregg Pass for a delicious lunch. After lunch, enjoy the gorgeous descent to Schwyz, the namesake of Switzerland, and then onto Brunnen on Lake Lucerne. We’ll board a boat across to Lucerne, sipping a delicious apéritif onboard as we take in the gorgeous views. Tonight in Lucernce we’ll enjoy a few cocktails before a phenomenal dinner at the Art Deco Hotel Montana.

Day Six: Hiking Mount Rigi
After breakfast we’ll take a charming boat tour from Lucerne to Vitznau, where we’ll board the cog railway, Europe’s first mountain railway. Enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view from the summit of Monunt Rigi across the Alps and over the entire Swiss Mitteland, through to Germany and France. From the top we have a half hour hike down to the Swiss mountain hut restaurant Chäseren Holzhütte. After lunch we’ll take the cable car to Weggis and transfer back to Lucerne. Your guides will see you off at the Lucerne train station.
