Tour by Day

Day One: Welcome to Uruguay!
Your guides will greet you at the Buquebus Ferry Boat terminal in Colonia del Sacramento, and we’re off to the exclusive Four Seasons Resort in Carmelo. In the afternoon, we’ll start with a bike fitting and safety talk before our cycling trip begins with a leisurely ride around the resort's scenic golf course. Or, take some time to acclimate while relaxing back at the hotel. Before dinner, participate in a traditional mate tasting. This evening we’ll be treated to dinner at the first of our four wonderful hotels.

Day Two: Carmelo Wineries
This morning we’ll bike to downtown Carmelo and Playa Cere before continuing to the boutique winery, El Legado, for a tour of the vineyard and a wine tasting. Indulge in Uruguay´s famous tannat wines, known for yielding very intense ruby color, and marked by mature and lasting tannins. Enjoy lunch before riding to Finca Narbona, a national heritage monument and a boutique winery. Delight in a tasting of their tannat wines along with some of their exceptional honey and raw cow’s milk cheeses. Tonight features a delicious dinner of homemade pasta, a local specialty.

Day Three: A Private Ride through Parque Anchorena
Start with a transfer to Parque Anchorena, one of Uruguay’s private national parks for a special treat –exclusive access to the park! Cycle surrounded by thousands of deer in their natural habitat and explore the natural wonders this amazing park has to offer. From here, continue to the historical city of Colonia del Sacramento where our local guide will share an in-depth history of this picturesque city. Stop for another deliciously prepared lunch at La Florida restaurant. After, visit the Portuguese museum, the Spanish museum, the Portuguese Museum of Mosaics, and the city’s main church. Opt to cycle or transfer back to Casa Limoneros. Enjoy dinner tonight at our second hotel.

Day Four: Loop Ride around Juanico Vineyard
This morning we’ll drive to Juanico Vineyard for a quick tour by bike around the winery’s lake, followed by a champagne toast. Enjoy a fantastic tour of the winery, a wine tasting and lunch. Next, we'll transfer to the stunning Punta del Este, where our hotel, Las Cumbres, is set in the middle of a nature reserve with breathtaking panoramic views. The night is yours to enjoy however you see fit. A shuttle to and from the city center will be available for those who want to explore the town of Punta del Este.

Day Five: Punta del Este and Jose Ignácio
Begin the day with a bike ride to the Museo Taller de Casapueblo, the workshop of the world-famous Uruguayan artist Carlos Paez Vilaró. His wooden-framed building is a masterpiece itself, without a single straight line. His unique style represents a breaking away from traditional architectural concepts. We’ll continue by bike to the town of Manantiales for a stop at the beach and some lunch. Next, choose to hop in the van or cycle the rest of the way to our hotel for the night in Jose Ignacio, the Playa Vik Hotel. Enjoy delicious regional specialities with dinner on the town tonight.

Day Six: Ride from Garzón to Anastacio
This morning we'll transfer to the village of Garzón, founded in 1892 by Fermin de León. We’ll participate in a cooking class and enjoy lunch at Casa Ana. After, cycle to Agroland’s Colinas de Garzon, an amazing olive oil plant surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, where we’ll be treated to a tasting of their incredible olive oil and wine. Back on our bikes we’ll ride to Anastacio lagoon, where a fishing boat* will be waiting to take us to Garzuana for happy hour. Opt to cycle or transfer back to the hotel where our cycling tour comes to an end. Tonight we’ll gather for a special farewell dinner at Playa Vik.
