Tour by Day
Day One: Welcome to the Alps!
Your guides will greet you at the airport in Montreux, Switzerland, and we’ll set off for a ride unlike any other at the UCI velodrome in nearby Aigle. Thrill at a session on the boards, seeing how fast you can go. We’ll then trade in the vélo de piste for our Cannondale SuperSixes and spin along the Swiss Rhône Valley before hitting the Col de la Forclaz (8.37 miles, 7.5%). A short descent will lead us to the Col de Montets (4.35 miles, 4.4%) before a thrilling final descent brings us to our wonderful hotel in Chamonix. We’ll fuel up tonight with a classic Savoyard meal.

Day Two: Col de la Colombiere and Col de Aravis
Start the day cycling between the cliffs of the Valle d’Arve before our first test of the day, the Col de la Colombière. This ten-mile, 6.8% beast is a Tour de France classic. After we’ve conquered the climb, its sweeping descent will land us at the base of the Col de Aravis (7.22 miles, 4.9%). Next, its a spectacular hairpin-laden descent through forests and meadows. Our ride ends with one last gentle ascent to the chic ski-town of Mègeve and our hotel, the Flocon de Sel. We’ll be spoiled at the hotel’s restaurant tonight by the chef-owner Emmanuel Renaut.

Day Three: Two Tour de France Legends
Today we’ll conquer two Tour de France legends. Start with the Category-one ascent of the Col des Saisies (8.75 miles, 5.1%). Descending from it towering summit, we’ll arrive for lunch in the town of Beaufort, famous for its cheese used in the traditional French fondue. Continue on past the Barrage de Roseland and attack our last climb for the day, the 12-kilometer Cormet de Roselend. Our mountainous ride ends in Bourg St. Maurice, where we’ll transfer to our luxury hotel in the ski resort town of Les Arcs. Enjoy dinner on your own tonight in town.

Day Four: The King Stage
We’ll transfer this morning to La Lechere, where our biggest day yet begins. After warming up, we’ll tackle the iconic Col de la Madeleine (15.3 miles, 6.3%), one of the hardest cols in the Alps. Replenish with a spectacular picnic lunch at the summit with a panoramic view of the Lauzière massif. After the thrilling and scenic descent, we’ll race skyward again on the Col du Glandon (13.2 miles, 6.9%). It’s worth the effort to earn some delicious alpine chocolate. Our day ends with a transfer to our hotel near the base of l’Alpe d’Huez. Our hosts will treat us tonight to a well-deserved gourmet alpine feast.

Day Five: Conquer l’Alpe d’Huez
Today we race for the yellow jersey on l’Alpe d’Huez, one of the most storied climbs in Tour de France history. Conquer the Alpe’s 14 kilometers at an average gradient of 8% and its infamous 21 switchbacks marked with panels that honor the winners of each stage finished there. How fast will you reach the top? At the summit, get a certificate marking your victory of l’Alpe. We’ll enjoy our last night out with one more gourmet alpine dinner. We’ve earned the right to indulge tonight!

Day Six: Au Revoir
Congratulations on your victory over the Alps! Enjoy one last breakfast in the mountains before your guides see you off at the Grenoble train station.
