We’ll explore stunning natural parks like Kaloko-Honokohauto National Park and watch the race finish with VIP passes. Learn from the very best about proper race and training nutrition, and put their lessons to practice at healthy but delicious meals at the best restaurants on the island.

Tour by Day
Day One: Aloha Kona
Your guides will greet you at the airport in Kailua-Kona and the adventure begins! We’ll jump-start the tour with a visit to a coffee plantation where some of the finest coffee in the world originates, learning about the process that turns the seeds of the bright red fruit into the stimulant that starts so many of our days. We’ll return to the King Kamehameha resort to hit the ground running for a 90-minute run. Then we’ll dial in our Cannondale bikes so the week’s rides go absolutely smoothly. Tonight we’ll dine healthfully at one of Kailua-Kona’s restaurants.

Day Two: Riding with the Best
Meet the best today - 4-time Kona Champion Chrissie Wellington* who will tell us all about her experiences as a world-class athlete and give us some of here dietary advice before leading our ride & run to the crucible of the triathlon's experience, the infamous Energy Lab. Rest this afternoon before we head up to the Kaloko-Honokohauto National Park to watch the sunset while learning about the life and culture of the indigenous tribes. Dinner will be the Ironman E Komo Mai Welcome Banquet, with an amazing spectacle of the Hawaiian and Ironman cultures.

Day Three: Paddling with the Dolphins
We’ll paddle out by kayak this morning to meet up with a pod of dolphins. We’ll paddle back for breakfast, and then the day is all about the bike. Ride on the Queen K on our way out to the peninsula town of Hawi, passing from the arid eastern coast to the verdant northern one. Continue just a little bit further beyond Hawi before a 20-minute hike that will bring us to the stunning Pololu Valley Beach and a view of cascades tumbling into the sea. Explore the cliffs and parkland. We’ll transfer back to Kailua-Kona to relax. Enjoy dinner on your own tonight in town.

Day Four: The Race!
We'll become the ultimate fans, watching one of the most grueling sporting events in the world. Enjoy the atmosphere as you watch men and women push every sinew in their bodies to the limits. From our vantage points, we will see the action up close. As the race winds down we’ll meet a local guide who will take us snorkeling at dusk to watch manta rays as they feed on plankton. Enjoy a delicious dinner before heading back to the race to cheer the final racers. Last year a septuagenarian arrived 30 seconds before the 17-hour time limit was up - we don’t want to miss the drama of the championship’s last hour.

Day Five: A Triathlon with a Cannondale Star Athlete
Today we’ll run our own triathlon, starting from historic Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park to swim, bike, and run on some of land that most tourists won’t see. Can you keep up? After a delicious lunch, take the afternoon to relax and recuperate by the pool and prepare for the evening. We’ll have great seats to the Ironman awards banquet at our hotel!

Day Six: Goodbye to Kona?
Take the morning to hone a skill. Will it be an invigorating swim? A challenging run? The guides will be happy to test your legs one more time on the hillsides surrounding Kona. Replenish with a breakfast and make sure you have your souvenirs before we say goodbye at the Kona Airport.
