"What should I bring on the tour?" is one of the most
common questions we get from our clients. To answer that
question we have compiled a sample packing list that you
can use. As an added bonus we have teamed up with Altrec.com,

.
Cycling
Shoes: Cycling shoes are different than regular
shoes in that they have stiff soles--giving you greater
efficiency and power in your cycling strokes.
Gloves:
Unlike work gloves or driving gloves, cycling gloves
are cut off at the fingers and are padded around your
palms. This gives you added comfort and flexibility
during long rides
.
Sandals:
These durable sandals are great to put on after a
long ride or even to wear when walking around town.
Men's
Cycling Jerseys, Women's Cycling Jerseys: Cycling
jerseys are great because they are made of moisture-wicking
material instead of cotton. These jerseys are also
tailored specifically for biking, so you get extra
movement where you need it and less where you don't.
Men's
Cycling Shorts, Women's Cycling Shorts: If you
bring only one piece of cycling gear on our trip make
it cycling shorts. These shorts have padding so your
underside doesn't feel as bad after a long ride and
are tight-fitting so that they don't bunch up on you
and chafe your thighs as you ride. For those of you
who don't like the idea of being seen in tight-fitting
shorts, you can buy styles that look just like regular
shorts.
Rain
Tops, Rain Bottoms: There is always a chance of
rain on your tour. Having raingear on hand is will
make the trip that much more enjoyable if the the
weather takes a turn for the worse
Sunglasses:
The sun gets very bright during the summer in France.
Having a quality pair of UV-protection sunglasses
is a good idea.
Helmet:
Helmets on our tours are not required, but we heartily
recommend them anyway. There are many styles and sizes
to choose from, so try them on first to test how they
fit before you buy.
Biking
Pack: Biking packs are great for storing clothing,
food, or other items you might want to access quickly
during a ride. They are made specifically for cycling
so that they don't move around or become cumbersome
as you ride.
Hydration
Packs: Hydration packs are great for longer rides.
They carry much more liquid and also free your hands
from fumbling around with the water bottle while you're
riding.
