Alex Santangelo

Cycling has been Alex’s favorite sport since he was a child. The semi-deserted roads of the Cilento National Park, where he grew up and still lives, have fueled this passion over the years, even when life has pushed him to take care of other things. Alex graduated in Economics and then worked in the field for several years. Ten years ago, he returned to his hometown to start his own bean farm.

What he likes most about Duvine is the emphasis on riding in relatively unknown places. Also, the great importance that is given to connecting with the local people in those places. What Alex carries with him is the desire to keep the passion of his childhood alive, to travel the world by bike, and to introduce people from all over the world to the region in which he lives.

François Seytres

François started cycling and skiing with his dad when he was 6-years-old. After 15 years of working as a sales manager for an international group, he moved to Canada for 10 years and was trained as a professional adventure guide in the remote region of Quebec. He then dedicated my time to the sports gear industry in Toronto. His education and knowledge of history and geography coupled with his experience with local cuisine and wine traditions give François the foundation for quintessential French hospitality. His passion for biking and the outdoors offer DuVine guests the most enjoyable experience on tour.

Adam Meers

Adam was born in the UK in a town called Witney in Oxfordshire. When he was six years old, Adam’s parents bought a beautiful old farmhouse in Dordogne, France. He loved growing up on the farm because it gave him the space to be adventurous. Some of his fondest childhood memories were spent cycling around the countryside with his dad, who is a keen cyclist and is responsible for sparking Adam’s love for bikes.

For the love of surfing, Adam moved to the west coast of Ireland to brew Belgium-style beer and ended up falling in love with the culture and local people. From Ireland, he traveled to Norway, Australia, and New Zealand where he live for four years, and worked as a joiner building bespoke furniture and eco straw bale homes. In his free time, he invested his energy into mountain biking, skiing, and multi-day bike trips, which were the perfect ways to see the country. Adam’s time in New Zealand led him to make some of his closest friendships and most unforgettable memories.

Salem started his career as a gendarme but has always prioritized the balance of work, travel, and sport. He started as a runner but now enjoys cycling and swimming. Salem lives in the Alps where he loves to ski in the winter, bike in the summer, instruct yoga, and coach sports all year long. A fan of great wine, like Saint Émilion and Châteauneufdupape, he leads a particular quality of life that brings him joy. With a great passion for travel, Salem looks forward to immersing himself in new cultural experiences on tour. Salem is excited to meet new people and experience the joy of traveling alongside his guests.

Martin Lachance

A lifelong outdoor enthusiast, Marty’s love of nature was born deep in the Canadian backcountry, camping, foraging, and stargazing with his dad. After graduating from the Outdoor Adventure guide program at Algonquin College in 2015, Marty turned his passion for exploration and outdoor education into a rewarding career as a naturalist. From bioluminescent tours in the Cayman Islands to multi-day sea kayak trips in New Zealand, Marty has spent the last 8 years finding new ways to help people experience the beauty of the natural world.

After moving to Girona, Spain, in 2020, Marty discovered his latest obsession: cycling. With DuVine, he now combines the two things he loves most–guiding tours and riding bikes. When Marty isn’t on a trip with DuVine, he can be found ripping around on his bike training for his next gravel race.

Rita Jacobetty

Third-generation Lisboner, Rita was born into a family of restless minds that raised her to love learning, problem-solve, and to be fascinated by life. That lead her to study design, then marketing, then social psychology, and then animal behavior. She worked in branding, business consulting, the third sector, motorsports, and in tourism. As a city girl, she has always been fascinated by the different people and territories of her country. Rita loves to explore different ways of life and appreciates many points of view. Guiding has been a way to share this passion with other curious minds.

Bicycles came into her life in 2019 when her goal to embrace a healthy and sustainable lifestyle led her to take up cycling as a means of transportation. She is now a proud storyteller on wheels who enjoys dazzling guests with precious little details about her country while making them feel welcomed as only Portugal does.

Luís Barreiros

Born and raised in Alentejo, Portugal, Luís studied food engineering and worked in Alentejo’s food industry. He now manages a traditional pastry shop in Estremoz, preparing local specialties like gadanhas. He first discovered mountain biking in 2004 and quickly got into cycling. After riding St. Jacobs way in Spain and cycling around Serra da Estrela in Portugal, he found that cycling is the best way to get to know a region, the people, and its traditions.
Deeply in love with his homeland of Alentejo and Portugal, Luís finds happiness in helping others see his country through his perspective and helping them understand why the Portuguese are the way that they are.

Luis Lopes

Luis’s enthusiasm for cycling began when he was 12 years old when his father bought him his first ever Bike Magazine. Since then Luis has pursued racing mountain bikes and rides on a daily basis. Prior to joining Duvine, Luis worked as a guide for local Portuguese bike tour companies since 2015. He’s a lover of the south of Portugal, especially Alentejo and the Algarve, where he spent more than half of his youth visiting his grandparents. His love for the people, food, and landscape in southern Portugal has always gotten to his heart and is now stronger than ever.

Antoni Alcaraz

Toni started cycling immediately after learning to walk in a small town near Barcelona. Always passionate about the outdoors and adventure, he set off in his early twenties to the UK with just a rucksack and no English language skills. His determination took him to live, work and study in several countries and develop a successful career as a Geographical Information Scientist. More recently he gained qualifications as an Expedition Leader and has led groups of young adults in Costa Rica, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Toni has returned to Catalonia from the UK and is extremely excited to share his passions and life experience with DuVine guests and to give them the best experience possible while on tour.

Marco Valoriani

Marco was born in Siena, Italy in a country house. After studying and working in the renewable energy and economics sectors, he left for an adventure of a lifetime in Australia. From there he traveled for months throughout Southeast Asia and Northern Europe. Returning to his happy island, he studied real estate and managed apartments that accommodated travelers. The bicycle came into his life as a game when he participated in the famous vintage race “L’Eroica,” and then became more and more a part of his life. He is now a certified hiking guide and loves sports played in nature, but above all, he loves sharing experiences with the people with whom he establishes enriching relationships. Bikes allow us to always explore new magical places, and Marco appreciates the authenticity of “slow tourism.” He is a curious and lively person, and details always make a difference to him.
