Padraic Doorey
Padraic Doorey has lived almost as many lives as tours led! He grew up in the County Kildare countryside village of Castledermot but spent much of his summers in the West of Ireland in County Galway. He holds a Degree in Law, a Postgraduate in Law & Business, and has a Masters (LLB) in Public International Law and has worked in industries as diverse as Investment Banking, Media, Entertainment and Hospitality.
He is a lifelong biker – he rode his bike to school daily from age 7 and has been a bike tour guide for over 8 years. A true Gourmand he has an organic vegetable garden at home in Ireland and spends his winters traveling to exotic destinations chasing the winter sunshine, new world wines, delicious food and golden bike paths! A true adventurer, Padraic was a contestant on the Irish version of the TV show “Survivor” shot on location in Tonga in 2001. He is passionate about all things Irish and loves to share the country of which he is so proud. Having kissed the Blarney Stone, he loves engaging in lively conversation and debate - just as long as religion, politics or saucy matters are not discussed at the dinner table! Besides, you’ll be so taken by the food in Ireland that’s all you’ll want to talk about at dinner… well, that and the amazing biking, stunning scenery, charming people, amazing Irish hospitality and vast arrays of whiskeys, licquers and beers on offer. Of the gentle rain in Ireland, he quotes his father – “there’s no such thing as bad weather; just bad clothing!”
