Born and Raised in Quito, Ecuador, Felipe discovered cycling early in life as a way to explore his surroundings in the Andes. Eventually, there came the need to discover what lies beyond the next hill, mountain, or bend in the river. His childhood spent climbing trees and mountains, bushwacking, fishing, and horseback riding inclined Felipe to pursue a Biotechnology degree, and not long after he was recruited to Adventure Racing—a team sport that competes on untamed wilderness courses. This led Felipe to begin guiding whitewater kayaking and rafting expeditions in the Amazon Basin, Ecuador, Canada, and the Galapagos Islands. In 2016, he was honored as a top adventure guide for his understanding of nature, ecology, and history with a touch of science and adventure.
