Simon grew up in the village of Llangennith on the Gower Peninsula of Wales where surfing and racing BMX bikes became his dueling passions. Riding the small BMX track in his hometown led to his eventual interest in mountain biking, where he honed his cycling skills and knowledge. Now, Simon is a qualified L3 British cycling coach and leadership tutor who delivers training courses to those wishing to become mountain bike guides. Prior to joining DuVine, Simon managed woodland for Forestry and Land Scotland, taught English to foreign students, lectured on the adventure studies course at his local university, and has even been an extra in a few cult-favorite UK television shows, including Dr. Who. Simon has a breadth of experience in guiding groups of all ages and abilities and brings a mentorship approach to his guided trips through Scotland.
