  • Day 1

    Rafting the Sarapiqui River

    Pura vida! Your guides will greet you at your hotel or the Juan Santamaria Airport in San Jose, and the adventure begins! We’ll transfer towards the Braulio Carrillo National Park. Here, we’ll review the essentials—equipment fit, safety talk, and paddling basics. Then we’re off, paddling 9 miles in one of Costa Rica’s most impressive gallery rainforests. Pass through densely vegetated rainforest gorges, view cascading waterfalls, and experience pounding rapids. Afterward we’ll drive on to Arenal, home to one of Costa Rica’s most active volcanoes. Tonight, enjoy dinner at Arenal Kioro hotel.

  • Day 2

    Zip-line through the Rainforest in Arenal

    We’ll begin the day with an adrenaline-filled Sky Trek canopy tour. Take the Sky Tram up to the top of the Arenal Reserve, and let the excitement begin! From here, we’ll set off on a tour of the treetops via a system of zip-lines that allow you to soar high above the rainforest then enjoy accelerating descents back into the canopies below. After our zip-lining adventure, we’ll learn how to prepare a delicious cappuccino while our lunch awaits us. Hop on our bikes and explore the area around Arenal. Later, hike the Coladas Trail to the lookout point of the young lava flow trail in the Arenal Volcano National Park. Dinner is on your own in La Fortuna tonight.

  • Day 3

    Exploring Arenal Volcano

    Begin the day with a bike ride toward el lago Arenal (Lake Arenal). Enjoy the amazing views of the towering volcano and tranquil lake as you pedal along these quite roads. We’ll cross the Sangregado Dam, surrounded by rolling hills and the imposing cone of Arenal in the distance. As we spin along further into forests you’ll have a chance to view some of the many creatures that inhabit this immensely diverse region. Keep an eye out for toucans, monkeys, frogs, and sloths. After our lunch at Lajas we’ll hop in the van transferring to the Guanacaste lowlands to our beachside hotel, Hacienda Cala Luna. Tonight, delight in a special dinner at the hotel.

  • Day 4

    Flamingo Bay and Sea Kayaking to Plata Island

    We’ll start the morning with a pleasant bike ride to Playa Flamingo, a beautiful white sand beach with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. After relaxing beachside, we’ll hop in our kayaks and paddle from Flamingo Bay to Plata Island. On the island explore the tropical coral reef, swim, or simply sit back and enjoy the sunshine on this secluded beach. We’ll paddle back to Playa Flamingo and enjoy lunch at Marie’s restaurant before returning to the hotel. Tonight features a dinner at a local favorite, Copacabana Restaurant.

  • Day 5

    Surfing Tamarindo Bay

    Today we’ll start with a ride through cattle ranches toward the spectacular Playa Grande. Locals know this spot as an excellent place to boogie board, surf, or observe the favourite nesting grounds of the majestic leatherback turtles. After a picnic lunch by the beach, we’re off to Playa Tamarindo to surf! Here, your professional surfing instructor will give you a lesson on proper technique and safety before we all jump in the ocean for a fun session on the waves. Get ready to be impressed with yourself as you ride down the line! Relax the rest of the afternoon before we enjoy our final dinner together.

  • Day 6

    Adios Costa Rica

    We’ll take an early morning flight back to San Jose where our adventure bike tour comes to an end. Here is where you’ll transfer to an international flight or flight extension.
