    Welcome to Sicily!

Your guides will meet you in Catania, and then we’re off to explore the Sicilian countryside. First we’ll cover the basics: bike fitting, safety talk, and map review. Start with a ride along the scenic ridgeline down to the coastal plain below. The route offers stunning views of the sea and provides for an evocative approach into the Baroque streets of historic Noto. Stop in the main square for the best local granita before continuing your ride past the ruins of Noto Antica back to the hotel. Tonight, enjoy your first Sicilian dinner at a local farmhouse, featuring seasonal produce, cheeses, and meats all grown and raised onsite.

A winding descent finds us surrounded by groves of orange and lemon trees as we pass through the hottest wine-growing region in Italy. Stop for a tasting of Nero d’Avolas at a cool, hidden local winery. Continue on to Marzamemi, a postcard-perfect fishing village where we’ll stop for lunch. Enjoy fresh seafood pasta at the local trattoria as you bask in the Sicilian sun. From here, choose to transfer back to the hotel or opt to bike back through Noto for an extra challenge. Dinner is served at our favorite restaurant in Noto.

After our meal, enjoy a final thrilling descent into the Irminio Valley and the fairytale cityscape of Ragusa. Perhaps no view on the island can compare with the sight of this urban waterfall of Baroque palaces and churches clinging to the steep hillside. We’ll spend the night here in the heart of the new town in a converted palace. Tonight you are free to explore Ragusa and take advantage of the great local dining scene.

Our destination is an incredible restaurant hidden in the village of Buccheri, run by two brothers who have devoted themselves to preserving local cooking, foraging for wild ingredients, and generally providing one of the best meals around. After lunch it’s a beautiful downhill ride to Vizzini, one of Sicily’s best-kept secrets, and a nice spin to our next hotel, the five-star Castello Camemi.
