    The Unspoiled Mediterranean

Our first day at sea begins with fresh-baked breakfast on board as we start cruising to nearby Turunç Bay. Once we drop anchor, we’ll get acquainted with our bikes during a fitting and safety talk, then tackle a warmup climb that brings us to the highest point over the Mediterranean—you can even see the Greek island of Rhodes. Keep pedaling on traffic-free roads through a series of small villages and stop for a traditional Turkish coffee and treats in the company of locals. We’ll descend to the secluded coves of Serçe and end our ride with a refreshing dip in the sea. After lunch, take a siesta or sun in the serenity of the cove. Back on board, we’ll cruise to the bay of Bozukkale, marked by a Hellenistic fortification. Take a short walk up to the ancient walls for a Turkish-style sundowner, and dine beneath the starry night sky back on board our yacht.

We’ll follow narrow, car-free roads through ancient settlements to our first destination: the traditional village of Taşlıca, where we’ll explore the settlement and its unique cisterns used to store water for livestock. Then it’s back on the bike to keep riding to Bozburun, a sweet seaside town dotted with taverns and tiny shops. Lunch is served at a local restaurant, followed by an afternoon of snorkeling or kayaking in the inviting waters of the Aegean. Back on the gulet, we’ll navigate to another quiet cove where we’ll moor for the night and dine on the deck.

    Aphrodite’s Ancient City

We’ll lift anchor early this morning and sail so close to Symi we could wave as we pass by. Our destination is the Datça Peninsula, a paradise of almond and olive trees set against beaches with beryl water. We’ll ride from the charming port of Mesudiye along the coastline until we reach the town of Palamutbükü, where we’ll climb to the peninsula’s highest point. At the top, delight in expansive views of the Aegean that continue during our descent to the western end of Datça. Ride right through homey villages where shop windows are stocked with local goods, stopping for a coffee at one of the cozy cafés. Our ride ends at the Greek ruin of Knidos, home to a temple that honors Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love. After a swim in the sea and lunch on our boat, our guides will walk you through bartering with the local fisherman in Knidos—take home a fresh filet of your choosing to be cooked by the onboard chef and served for your dinner this evening. If the wind is in our favor, we may cruise onto the Mersincik Bay or Çökertme Bay to anchor overnight.

After breakfast, today’s ride travels eastward along the northern shore of Gökova. Climb to the tiny villages of Alatepe and Kultak, making frequent stops to sample fresh bread and other delicacies on offer by villagers. Opt to hop in the van or challenge yourself with a steep three-mile climb! We’ll share lunch together, then spend the afternoon at your leisure—perhaps borrowing paddleboards or sea kayaks from the gulet. This evening is another feast of fresh local fare prepared by our private chef.

Ride or transfer back to the boat, and we’ll depart for Sedir Island to anchor in its crystalline waters. Explore Kedrai—the ancient city Cleopatra and Marc Antony visited in search of privacy—before lunch, then embark once more as we cruise west, chasing the sunset. We’ll arrive in another remote bay just in time for an airy al fresco dinner.

    Ancient Wonders and Artisan Crafts

We’ll rise with the sun and cruise towards Çökertme Bay for our final day of riding. Spin through peaceful villages untouched by time as we mount several small climbs. In Sazköy, pause for a bite to eat and visit with a local to learn about the village’s artisan trade—intricately hand-woven carpets. Keep pedaling to a descent into Çiftlik, where our boat is moored and anticipating our arrival with lunch ready and waiting. Back in the Gulf, we’ll continue towards the tip of the peninsula to the buzzing city of Bodrum. Spend the afternoon digging into Bodrum’s many sites, including the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus (a Wonder of the Ancient World), the imposing 15th-century castle, and lanes of shops draped with canopies of bougainvillea. On our final evening together, we’ll toast to all our accomplishments with a cocktail on the yacht and enjoy one last gorgeous dinner gathered on the Kaya Guneri.
