  • Day 1

    Welcome to Bordeaux

    Your guides will greet you at the Libourne train station and whisk you to Saint-Émilion, the village on the right bank that’s synonymous with fine wine and surrounded by some of the world’s most legendary vineyards. Check into the luxurious Hostellerie de Plaisance before we hop on our bikes and ride through Grand Cru vineyards to a wine-paired lunch at Château de Candale. After, pedal the tranquil paths and lush vineyards on the banks of the Dordogne river, then loop back to Saint-Émilion for a wine-tasting seminar. Tonight is the first of many incredible dinners at a local gastronomic restaurant that’s thought to be the oldest in town.

    Exploring Pomerol and Saint-Émilion

    Enjoy a loop ride through the storied vineyards of this region. Cycle past Cheval Blanc, Château Figeac, Petrus, and more on our way to Château Angélus, one of only four chateaux in the region to attain the top ranking of Premier Grand Cru Classés A. Enjoy an amazing and exclusive wine tasting here, and you will understand why Parker has awarded Angelus 90+ points for an incredible run of 15 consecutive years! After lunch, ride back to the hotel in time for relaxation before heading to Château Troplong Mondot for another truly amazing tasting experience followed by a great dinner at their Michelin-starred restaurant.

    Crossing the Gironde Estuary

    Say farewell to Saint-Émilion with a visit to the fascinating cellars of Couvent des Jacobins before we ride to Bordeaux’s other wine capital: the Médoc. Our route winds through villages that dot the banks of the Gironde estuary, and we’ll pause for lunch by the ramparts of the UNESCO-recognized Blaye Citadel. Board a ferry to cross the Gironde and arrive in the cradle of Cabernet Sauvignon. Bike to our next luxurious hotel set amidst gorgeous grounds and vines, then take time to freshen up before a pre-dinner visit to the estate’s Cos d’Estournel vineyards and cellar. Tonight, we’re treated to an open-kitchen dining experience where we’ll sip wine and chat with the chef, enjoying a front-row seat and lending the occasional hand in preparing our meal.

    Saint-Estèphe Loop Ride

    This morning’s route takes us past the Médoc’s most revered estates: Châteaux Mouton Rothschild, Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Latour, and more. We’ll stop for a barrel-side tasting and conversation about aging at Château de Camensac, a producer whose wines are 1855 Bordeaux classified. Continue riding Bordeaux’s classic wine route after a picnic lunch in the estate gardens—your efforts will be rewarded with an incredible opportunity to taste wine at the world-famous Château Mouton Rothschild. Tonight we bid Bordeaux farewell with a dinner of haute cuisine and local fine wine at Château Cordeillan-Bages. Bon appétit!

    From Bordeaux to Burgundy

    Today we bid adieu to the big wines and estates of Bordeaux and begin our immersion into the boutique, elegant world of Burgundy. After a short flight to Lyon, your guides will transfer you to your next hotel in Beaune. Explore Beaune, relax, or take an optional bike ride with a private visit to the Hospices de Beaunea historic charity hospital. In addition to being an architectural masterpiece, the Hospices is famous in the wine world for its much-anticipated wine auction held here each November. Tonight we’ll get to know Burgundy during a private dinner in the cave (wine cellar) of a local Grand Cru producer.

  • Day 6

    Explore the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune

    Today we ride beyond the medieval walls of Beaune, cycling through picturesque villages in the French countryside. Enjoy extraordinary views of Saint-Romain’s 13th-century castle ruins as we pedal past Charolais cows, the château at La Rochepot, and the hamlet of Orches. Indulge in a gourmet lunch in Puligny-Montrachet paired with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown right on the estate. After lunch, cycle back to Beaune through Volnay and Pommard. Tonight you’re free to dine on your own: choose from Beaune’s many restaurants, which range from casual brasseries to Michelin-star fine dining.

We’ll ride through Aloxe-Corton to Marey-Lès-Fussey, admiring the glazed tile rooftops that rise from a sea of verdant vineyards. Stop for a truffle-themed lunch at a wine producer that does double duty as a truffle farm, followed by a pleasant descent into the village of Comblanchien. This afternoon, we’ll spin past renowned Romanée-Conti vineyards and come to a triumphant finish at the 125-acre Clos de Vougeot, birthplace of Burgundy’s Grand Crus. Tonight, head to Maison Bouchard Père & Fils for a spectacular tasting and a private farewell dinner with wines from this famous estate—an intimate and truly Burgundian affair.
