Print Itinerary- Day 1
Welcome to Arizona
Meet your guides in Phoenix for a transfer to our desert-chic sanctuary in Sedona. After a mountain bike fitting and safety briefing, we kick off our first ride into the incredible red rock formations—a landscape ablaze with sunlit spires and towering natural canyons. After our warmup loop, you’ll truly understand what attracts bikers from around the world to this corner of the American Southwest. Pause for a picnic lunch en route and end back at the hotel with time to treat yourself to some services at the spa. Tonight, have a cocktail and catch an ethereal sunset, followed by a festive dinner at a beloved Mexican café.

The Wild West
Pedal out of Sedona on a bike trail that crosses the high desert: this historic wagon route dates to the 1880s and it leads to the Tuzigoot National Monument—a staggering 110-room pueblo built by the Sinagua people in between the 12th and 14th centuries. Keep riding to the town of Cottonwood, sublimely located in the center of the Verde Valley wine region. We’ll snack and sip some local vintages at a winery specializing in farm-to-table fare. After lunch, take a detour up the hill to Jerome, a mining town recovered from the brink of ghost-township thanks to a funky wild-west revitalization. Back in Sedona, explore the local dining scene this evening on your own, or get your guides’ recommendations for their favorite meal in town.

Mystical Mesas
We’ll trade our bikes for boots today and head out for a hike into the spectacular red rock formations above Sedona. Gain some insight about the area’s unique geologic history—vortexes and all—as we trek from a forested valley to the heights of a panoramic mesa. Marvel at the brilliant crimson landscape and enjoy a gourmet picnic, then finish hiking the loop that brings us back to Sedona. Spend the afternoon soaking in the creek or soothing your legs in the hot tub. Tonight, regroup for a final candlelit dinner at the hotel’s transcendent restaurant, perched right on the banks of slow-flowing Oak Creek.

One More Before We Go

After a well-earned lunch back in town, your guides will get you to the Phoenix airport for your flight home.
